New Jersey, here I am

I'm all moved in to my step Uncle and Aunt's house out in Middle Park, NJ only 45 minutes from my future work, which starts Tuesday. I have a nice room on the top floor all to my self, and the bus to the city is within walking distance! Gotta love public transportation!

More on starting work later...

I actually miss Medina. I definitely miss St. Louis!

Unions are pretty much worthless now

Boeing is taking a radical step in making the Labor Unions feel pretty much worthless with their new website: Click here. With this, they can offer up new contract terms without Union Management trying to skew the facts and present it to the machinists, etc...
They can then process and think about the new terms days, instead of hours, before they vote to strike. GM, Ford, Chrysler, take hints!

I still think the entire Boeing Union is overpaid. Average wages for a MACHINIST is $91,500 a year, and they are getting a $24,000 to $28,000 pay raise. How ridiculous is that? Read the bloomberg article here.

Boeing needs to move to China/India and open up more plants there, average wages would decrease pretty quickly and airline travel could become cheaper!

My 30 Hour Trip, and SLU things.

I guess I'm officially all moved out of Saint Louis now...thanks to the help of Marty, Nnana, and my sister (Jessica) I loaded everything that I hadn't given away into my Mom's truck and drove it home, well Sunday drove to St. Louis, and Monday drove home with my slight hangover and 3 or 4 hours of sleep. Seemed pretty normal, getting things done with no sleep and a hangover. I even saw Julia in the BSC while getting my normal sausage on a plain bagel to help nurse my hangover.

It was nice to be back in St Louis for the brief period of time Sunday night. Went to the west end, met up with some friends, drank like normal, ended the night at lacledes, etc... Oh, and I heard I have readers to my blog! That's exciting.

SLU seems to be getting better. I mean they have an in and an out section at Au Bon Pain. I was yelled at this morning for walking in the wrong way! There is so much space it's amazing, now that I won't be a regular there anymore.

It's great to read in the paper that SGA is so open to giving out money that you may not even have to be a chartered student organization to request money if the new Finance Committee has its way. Normal Joe Diversity Student can throw an event for him and his friends and have the activity fee pick up the cost. How great!

I hope someone requests money to bring me back to SLU for a weekend to enrich the lives of my friends. I would only stay at the Chase of course. But what's a few bucks right? Ah well, not too much with the increased revenue from the hundreds of Chinese students now attending and paying activity fees! Perfect I say.

First Post!

I guess I will explain why I created this...I want to try and stay in touch with people especially after college ended, moving away from friends, family, and others from my past. You now have something to talk about with me...or one more thing at least.

I'll be moving to New York City to start work for Standard Chartered Bank as an International Graduate Associate (GA). I start on September 2 for about 4 days in New York, and then training begins in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for 6 weeks from Sept 7-Oct 17. Then back to New York to begin my rotations through different positions.

I still have to: return to St. Louis to pick up the rest of my stuff (Thank you Marty and Julia for storing it! Nnana for moving it), move to my step-Uncle's house for my first week of work, Kuala Lumpur for 6 weeks training, then finally move all of my stuff to New York City after successfully finding an affordable place in the city hopefully close to friends.

So, it should be a fun time with the traveling and everything my new job will bring me...hence the title "my next step."

Also, if you want to contact me, my cell phone works over there! Just remember the 12 hour time difference.
